About

I made the jump from working for design studios, creating artwork for clients including: Ralphs Markets, Porsche, Nissan, The Department of Water and Power, Glendale Adventist Hospital, to Animation, starting out painting gallery cells for ‘The Simpsons’. This lead to a in-house position creating color sheets for production on Rick Rich’s ‘The Swan Princess’. As production slowed at the end of the feature, I was asked what I wanted to do within the company. Being offered both management jobs due to my capacity to both get along with every department and my willingness to be trained in each faucet, contributing to final production, I chose paint and background layout.

The lead artists and supervisors, having given me tests, then moved me into full background layout, where I met Dan McHugh, who at the time was developing the look of shows for the resurgent Warner Bros. TV. division. It was his recommendation to apply to Warner Bros. that landed me on Freakazoid. There I was placed on a highly talented crew, mentored by senior artists and involved with meetings involving Steven Spielberg and Bruce Timm. That early experience and training allowed me to eventually work on ‘Batman Beyond’, Superman, Scooby Doo and DC Universe DTV’s as well as multiple series such as Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain’, and ‘Mike Tyson Mysteries’. The unofficial mentoring system in place at Warner Bros. TV, besides being irreplaceable and formative, allowed me to get work at Disney TV, Sony TV, Film Roman as well as independents such as BKN.
